Xander is a bit less than average in height and comes in with the darker coloring associated with his Italian/Celtic Heritage. His eyes are brown though they sometimes display flecks of gold and green, especially when emotions come into play.

Personality

Xander is calm and collected on the job. How could he not be? Stellar Cartography is not exactly the most stressful or demanding job he could have taken.

At home, however, with his three daughters, he is often on the verge of his wits end. The dichotomy that people see, the nearly frantic father, and the calm almost gentle Cartographer, can be confusing to some.

Xander’s greatest strength is his love for his family and his dedication to his career

His greatest weakness is his occasional lack of self –confidence and the habit of questioning his actions. This can cause him to freeze up if he over thinks things too much

Xander wants to be a good father to his children, to discover if he has what it takes to be a writer, and to excel at the tasks Starfleet throws at him.

Hobbies and Interests

History

Xander Price was born to Michael and Melissa Price on August 18th , 2345. His parents were scientists dedicated to cataloging phenomenon and anomalies in the spider nebula cluster. Thus it was probably fitting that he had a penchant for science as well.

At an early age he dedicated his mind to seeking knowledge, most especially the sciences, and at 17 entered Newmark University. He graduated in 2366 with honors and married his high school sweetheart, Kyra Goldman. Kyra decided to join Starfleet, entering the Security field, and Xander wasn’t about to be left behind. With a degree already under his belt he could easily have petitioned for the Academy, but that would have separated him from his new bride for years, so he opted for boot camp and then enlisted training.

A rare moment

Security wasn’t his ball of wax, however, and though he scored high on the firing range and hand to hand aspects, he requested an immediate transfer to sciences. The transfer was granted and he entered sciences as a petty officer. It was hard work at first, but he reveled in the discoveries he helped to usher in, and being stationed with his wife made the experience better than science alone could account for.

In 2380 Xander and Kyra were blessed with twin girls, and another came in 2381. The Chief Petty Officer took leave to watch the girls while his wife returned to work. He remained at home with the girls until the youngest was one, when he returned to sciences, but this time with a different specialty.

During all this time, Xander continued his schooling via distance learning and earned a second degree in astrophysics and stellar cartography. Soon after he passed his cartography qualifications he was given a berth as the lead Stellar Cartographer on USS Explorer.

Seven months ago both Xander and Kyra received notice that they would be transferred to Kepler station in the Delta Quadrant. Though it meant being isolated from both family and friends the two were excited about the learning opportunities it would give their daughters. Sadly, a month later, Kyra was killed when a plasma conduit ruptured from poor maintenance. Xander was devastated, and considered leaving Starfleet to return home to family.

It may be that no one will ever know what caused him to change his mind. In spite of the insistent badgering from his family that he should give up his daughters, or leave them with family, he decided to continue on with the Delta Quadrant plans. Life on Kepler may be far from ideal, but his daughters are his life, and he wants to give them the best he knows how.

At night, while his girls sleep, Xander sits at the console and writes. He already has a number of short stories published under a pseudonym, and there are times when writing is the only thing that keeps him sane.
