Flight Control
Originally known as helm, or Flight Control Officer, CONN incorporates two jobs, Navigation and flight control. A Flight Control Officer/Crewman must always be present in the Command Centre of Kepler, on the bridge of a starship or in the pilot's chair of a shuttle / runabout. On Kepler they act as a flight traffic controller for all visiting and support vessels.
The Chief Flight Control Officer is the senior most CONN Officer, serving as a Senior Officer, and Chief of the Personnel under them.
The Assistant Chief Flight Controller is the second-in-command of the Flight Control Department, and is able to assume the duties of Chief Flight Control Officer on a temporary or permanent basis as so needed.
A Flight Controller / Pilot must always be present in the Command Centre of Kepler, on the bridge of a starship or in the pilot's chair of a shuttle / runabout. They plot courses, correct any flight deviations and when on ship or shuttle supervise the computer or pilot manually when needed.
