Freyja FirestormRank: Lieutenant Junior Grade
AppearanceSpecies: Besm Freyja Firestorm is tall, with an athletic build. She wears her candy-apple red hair long, and most often wears nine golden bells, each with the name of a Terran goddess of love engraved on it, braided into her hair. People tend to hear Firestorm coming before they see her. As with all Besm, her eyes are unusually large, and she tends to wear sunglasses in Human-normal lighting. Also like the rest of her species, she is a psychic null, and even the strongest empaths and telepaths can neither read from nor send to her mind. PersonalityFreyja Firestorm is, above everything else, a consummate professional, a scientist with infinite curiosity about the universe. She can get wrapped up in scientific questions and forget about personal things such as eating lunch or meeting coworkers for a drink, but she never forgets her duty. HistoryFreyja Firestorm was born in the city of Newer York, at Happy Dragon Creche Number Twelve, as part of clone group D(D)2-2360-1. Along with her nine identical twin sisters, she was raised in the creche by pedagogues who encouraged curiosity about the galaxy outside Home. The clone group's final pedagogue was one of the Wildrose clone, whose siblings included both of the Besm who had previously joined Starfleet. Upon completion of basic education at the age of 16, Firestorm applied to Starfleet Academy and was accepted, becoming the third of her species ever to join Starfleet. She initially intended to become a flight officer, as the Wildroses had, but during her freshman year, decided that science was more interesting. She graduated in the top percent of her class, and was sent as a Science Officer to USS Archimedes. It was during her time aboard USS Archimedes that she encountered a Slaver vessel, a billion-year-old ship crashed on an ice planet. Curious how a ship survived a billion years, she did deep scans of the hull while under fire from Kzin. Those scans formed the basis of an obsession which has lasted for several years, an attempt to replicate the substance the hull was made of: a sort of stable carbon-ring chain mail. In pursuing this goal, she has so far developed over a thousand new methods of creating Fullerenes, some of which have found applications throughout the Federation. |
