S'lithik appears as a fairly average gorn, although much lighter than average. His eyes appear to be multifaceted, akin to an insect; this is actually a protective set of goggles that help to enhance his vision in many ways. His true eyes have the characteristic vertical, reptilian slit surrounded by a beige iris. Despite his relatively light frame, he appears to be much stronger than a human of similar proportions.

Bio: S’lithik was hatched on a Gorn colony world, Paravian III to his parents, Gre’Nor and an aloof father Sii’Nan, His father was a soldier who fought for the Gorn Hegemony for most of his short life, before his death when S’lithik was only five years old. Gre’Nor was forced to raise the hatchling herself, which made little difference to him considering his father was hardly around to begin with. This left S’lithik alone while his mother was working to support him and the rest of his clutch-mates. She was only able to just support all of them by working as a heavy laborer, helping to construct new, heavier military buildings.
S’lithik was less than supportive of the Hegemony military, believing that the destruction of his father’s ship, the GHS Gila destroyer, in a border skirmish with the Romulans was avoidable. Because of his aversion to the military, he sought out another job that would help remove him from the reach of the Hegemony. For much of his adolescence, he worked aboard various shipping freighters that operated outside of Gorn space.
It was here, under the tutelage of many of the older crewman of the ship that he began to learn the ins and outs of trading with aliens. He knew that aliens could not be trusted, but in order to do any business with them, he’d have to learn to tolerate them. Negotiation and compromise became a large part of his studies, trying to figure out the best ways to make money. This lead to occasional spats with other Gorn within the Hegemony over his behavior being more reminiscent of a Ferengi than a true Gorn.
Despite the teasing he’d received, S’lithik continued down this path, eventually learning enough about many of the other cultures he’d have to deal with. In his time, he discovered that some of his best bets in getting a highly profitable deal were with humans. The experiences that he’d had all seemed to say that they were at least somewhat gullible and ready to believe that those trading with them were giving them a good deal if they were told as much.
After years of working his way through the ranks aboard various ships, starting as a young cabin boy and general laborer aboard a freighter and making his way up to the first officer of a larger ship, he finally managed to save enough money to purchase an older Gorn ship that he would be able to operate himself. This ship was a fairly small freighter, but he felt that if he took his time he’d be able trade up the ship and get a better one and be able to afford the crew that went with it. The double-hulled craft is only about twice the size of a standard runabout, with one hull holding the operating systems and quarters while the other is almost entirely open for cargo space. He named the ship SS Uromastyx.

In the mean time, he has spent his time exploring the more core-ward trade routes, finding that most of them had been already filled by larger crafts or the Ferengi. While the trips were profitable, they were not overly so. To try to establish himself in an area not already taken, S’lithik began running luxury items that could not generally be replicated into the Gavarian Frontier. His trips into the frontier predate Kepler’s appearance, with his route including the science station planet-side.
Much of his wears include real alcohol from various parts of the galaxy, fresh foods kept in stasis, holonovels, and a mix of various other materials he is generally able to find at a low price. These more bargain items can range anywhere from civilian clothes, generally from the previous year’s season, and on a few strange occasions, old Earth memorabilia, ranging from real, paper books to art from various cultures.
Personality:

To say that S’lithik is amiable would be a terrible mistake. Like many Gorn, he’s often found to be very aggressive toward other species, and other Gorn, as well. While the difference may not seem to be readily apparent to many non-Gorn that would interact with him, relative to others of his species he’s practically affable.

He tends not to take issue with many species, at least from his own perspective, but his Gorn tendencies and upbringing mean that he’s still quite xenophobic and feels fairly superior to most other species he meets. In his time exploring the known galaxy, however, he’s found that there are some races that are easier to get along with than others; Klingons, thanks to a common honor code, and Saurians, who have a common reptilian heritage tend to be easier to deal with.

Most humanoids are generally seen as inferior, but he tends to deal well with Betazoids, who seem to have some problems getting a proper read on his reptilian mind, and humans. Romulans are simply out of the question, as the only group that may harbor more animosity toward them than the Gorn are the Klingons. S’lithik especially tends to avoid Vulcans, as they have a bad habit, in his mind, of knowing the real value of what they want and not being willing to pay more than that.

S’lithik does not make friends easily, if at all and has no issue with this. His reptilian nature means that he is more than willing to fly forty days from Federation Space to Kepler alone; he even seems to look forward to it.
