Has a faint scar that runs across the right side of his forehead, starting above his right eye and going up to his right temple. He occasionally grows a goatee, although this is mostly during the fall and winter. He sometimes slouches, although this depends on what kind of a mood he’s in.
Mostly professional when on duty, although he can be best described as distant, paranoid and untrusting even then. He doesn’t like to talk about his past or his family and for the most part he likes to stick to the shadows and not be bothered. Is easily angered when people close to him are in danger, and is willing to put himself in danger in order to protect others. He is often commented as being reckless in this regard.
Sean was born into a military family. His dad was a Marine fighter pilot while his mom was a reserve Starfleet tactical officer. Sean was always getting into fights with his old man, mostly because Sean hated the iron fisted rule that his dad enforced on the household, but these were always heated arguments that stemmed from the fact that Sean was the kid and his dad was the parent. Even so, Sean disliked the strict rules that his parents enforced on him. This eventually grew into a problem after his father was injured and placed on medical leave. His father’s injury never healed, and when he was eleven, his dad was given a medical discharge from the Starfleet Marines.
When he was twelve, Sean’s dad started drinking, and from then on he was never sober. Eventually, their arguments became full blown fights, and things spiraled down from there. When he was sixteen, Sean moved out after a fist fight with his dad. Moving in with a friend, he tried to continue going to school, although this didn’t work out because his dad would show up at school and cause problems. He dropped out of high school when he was seventeen and obtained a GED before going to work at a factory as a security guard.
His first boss was a Starfleet reservist, and he noticed that Sean’s paranoia and sharp skills. After two years, he suggested that Sean join Starfleet, which drew a sharp remark from Sean and almost ended their friendship. Eventually, Sean thought it over and decided to at least try it out. After talking to his friend, he applied for Starfleet Academy as a Security Cadet at the age of twenty.
Sean’s first year at the Academy was spotless. He was surprised at how easily he fell into the routine. He graduated on time and was assigned to two six month ship based tours before Starfleet decided that he would best fit in on a station.
